Aid Nest is a mobile app designed to reduce waste in college communities by connecting students and donors to verified nonprofit organizations in need of specific goods. With high turnover in student housing, countless items such as furniture, clothing, and electronics are discarded each year, often due to limited access to donation channels and a lack of awareness of nonprofit needs. Aid Nest addresses this problem by ensuring donations are accessible, useful, and impactful.

The app allows users to scan or photograph items to build a personal donation catalogue, then matches those items to organizations actively requesting them. Donors can choose between in-person drop-offs or shipping through automatically generated labels. To encourage continued engagement, Aid Nest includes a rewards system, service hour tracking for students, educational highlights, and a dedicated electronic recycling tab.
